Panerai - Radiomir 1940 Equation of Time 8 days
A new watch presented at the SIHH 2015 by Panerai. Radiomir 1940 with a sophisticated complication called "equation of time".
Basically, the equation of time is a solar meridian and it's a result of the Earth's inclination and its elliptical orbit. The indicator displays the difference in time and it is set automatically when a date and the month are set on the watch.
A 48 mm case made of a beautifully polished AISI 361L stainless steel with a typical for the Panerai watches shape. AISI 361L is an alloy, which provides great resistance against corrosion. Fabulous sharp, dynamic lines of the case with a polished bezel as well as the case, makes a phenomenal impression. A black mat dial is incredibly legible along with a luminous numerals and hour markers. At 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock we can see a very distinctive sub-dials indicating small seconds and month. A date window is situated very close to the month sub-dial. The highly sophisticated "equation of time" complication found its place at 6 o'clock. The front of the watch is treated by a sapphire crystal formed of corundum
The 48mm pretty massive case is housing a P.2002/E calibre movement, entirely executed by Panerai. It is a mechanical mechanism with a hand winding. It consists of the 328 fine components. The power reserve in this watch is about 8 days, it is indicated on the back of this watch. A movement is visible by a see-through sapphire crystal. Case provides a 100 meters of water resistance. Watch goes with a brilliant black alligator strap.
